Chris is Founder, President, and Managing Principal of TANDEN, a human and organizational performance optimization firm based in Raleigh, NC. TANDEN is in the business of helping organizations successfully reach their desired project delivery goals and maximizing efficiencies through relevant and targeted adult learning programs. TANDEN provides learning and development, project management and leadership consulting services designed to bolster the skills and aptitudes of the organization’s human capital – its team members. At TANDEN, Mr. Wright has worked with organizations in a multitude of industries including: Health/Hospital Care, Crop Science, Financial Services, Department of Defense, Consumer Retail, Food and Beverage, Consumer Food and Beverage Products, City and State Governments, Higher Education, Wireless Telecommunications, and Information Technology. Prior to TANDEN, Chris worked as a Senior Program and Project Manager in the wireless telecommunications industry leading cutting edge wireless data/Internet projects. Chris has a Master’s degree in Project Management (MPM) from Western Carolina University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics and Spanish from Georgia Southern University. He is a member of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and the Project Management Institute (PMI)® where he served as the Vice President of Education for the North Carolina chapter of PMI (NCPMI). Mr. Wright has also been certified by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) as an Instructional Practitioner (formerly known as Professionally Qualified, or PQ) through its Bridge Program. Chris serves as a Board Member and Event Director for a Raleigh-based charitable organization, The Bald Entrepreneurs. In the past six years, The Bald Entrepreneurs has raised over $450,000 for childhood cancer research. In his spare time, Mr. Wright is a baseball coach, writes about historical ironies, and also enjoys the great outdoors.

Mike Portera, MPM, PMP®

Mike Portera is a certified Senior Project Management Professional
(PMP®) with 25 years of experience in leading global and culturally diverse program and project teams across a multitude of industries.
Mr. Portera brings project experience from financial services, software development, transportation, tele-communications, Federal Government, and Food Manufacturing.
Mr. Portera brings a passion to his consulting and project management clients and raises the project management acumen of all persons whom he works with. Mr. Portera earned his Masters of Project Management from Western Carolina University.
Mike is a very focused and impassioned individual who brings dedication, commitment, and enthusiasm to both the projects he manages and the classes he instructs.

Mike has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry leading projects and programs in managed services, internet hosting, cloud computing, virtualization, LAN/WAN development, client/server deployment, and desktop software initiatives. In addition to his hands-on project experience, Mike is responsible for the design, support, and administration of both the Tanden LLC and Project Leadership Series websites.
Mike has a high level of proficiency in the MS Office suite, Visio, Project, OneNote and is also proficient in WordPress, CSS, HTML, PHP, Visual Basic, and Web Security. Mike is an active member with JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research foundation) and serves on the Strategic Planning Committee where he is helping develop a 3-5 year plan for fund-raising and project initiatives. In his spare time, Mike enjoys playing tennis and long-distance running. He is always training for a half-marathon somewhere in the NC area. Mike is an active member of PMI and the local North Carolina Project Management Institute (NCPMI) Triangle chapter.

Dr. Gary Evans is a certified Senior Project Management Professional (PMP)® with over 25 years of information technology management and project leadership experience. Dr. Evans’ primary expertise is in the areas of: project/program management, project management training and mentoring, organizational project management assessment, PMO strategy/start-up, organizational change management, and business process analysis and redesign. Dr. Evans has extensive training, facilitation, and course/seminar development experience to complement his hands-on project leadership endeavors. Prior to serving as a Tanden consultant and educator, Dr. Evans gained extensive experience leading projects, program management offices, and information technology initiatives in a multitude of industries including: Transportation, IT Staffing, Government, Software Development, Clinical Research, and Pharmaceutical. Gary has a Ph.D., in Pharmacology, a M.A., in Psychology, and a B.S., in Biology and has served as the Vice President of Programs and Strategy for the North Carolina chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI)®.

Allen Evitts, MA, PMP®
Senior Learning & Human Performance Catalyst
Allen Evitts is a certified Senior Project Management Professional and PMP® with over 15 years of experience leading technical and IT-oriented project teams. He is a veteran instructor with both classroom and workshop experience. Mr. Evitts is actively involved with the Project Management Institute (PMI)® as a speaker and trainer and has a Master’s degree in Communications. With 30 years of training experience, he currently provides training services to project management training providers, and is regarded as a highly effective adult learning and development facilitator.

Mr. Evitts has ample experience in course and workshop delivery, and has also worked as trainer, mentor and coach. Allen previously served as an instructor with Emory University and Georgia Perimeter College. He has been a contract player on the corporate stage for 18 years and has worked as consultant with AT&T, General Electric, NC Department of transportation, Rubbermaid, Cingular Wireless, BellSouth, The Federal Reserve, and the United States Postal Service.
His project management accomplishments include:
• Led a global telecom to its first successful integration of a GPS system to their fleet of vehicles
• Led the enterprise wide integration testing effort (involving 200+ separate applications) for a major wireless company.
• Managed a commissioning group ($1 Billion plus commissions annually) through a billing conversion which radically changed the algorithm by which employees and contractors were being paid.
Mr. Evitts has a M.A. in Communications from Georgia State University, a B.A. from Maryville College and has conducted doctorate studies at Emory University. He is the author of several project management courses and workshops. In addition to his professional pursuits, Allen also “dabbles” in theatre as he has directed over 50 plays during the course of his nearly 20 years of acting and teaching.
